Hi. I recently bought a plant at a big box store. The plant was labeled only as "Crassula". I have been looking all over the web for pictures to help me identify the species/variety, but to my untrained eyes, it could be any of 5 or more different species. I am hoping someone on this forum can help identify it. The "plant" actually seems to consist of several separate plants. Each is about 12 cm tall and is thoroughly dark green. The stems of some plants have a short brown woody section near the soil. Most of the leaves have a deep vermilion color at the tips. There are no spots and no variegation that I can see. The stems are straight with minimal branching. The leaves emerge from the stems in pairs. The spacing from one pair to the next is about 2 cm. The leaves seem to have very short stems (only a few mm long), where the color is a pale green. The leaves measure from 2 to 5 cm long and are raindrop shaped. Most of the leaves are round at the end, but a few have unpronounced points. All of the leaves have a very pronounced upward curvature. The leaves do not seem to be "rolled" and do not have any wavy features. I have included three pictures, one of which shows the stems in detail. For some reason the red leaf tips do not come through well in the photograph. The leaf tips are a very deep vermilion. If anyone can identify this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
I'd say C. ovata (Jade Plant), myself - it's the most common of the big-box store succulents. Deep red leaf tips are typical of plants that are exposed to full sun.
