Can anyone help me identify this plant? I would think it just a raspberry, though it doesn't appear like the plants we have, with the numerous berry clumps, unless ours just aren't that productive:). With the leaves as well, I'm leaning towards raspberry, though since the pic is B&W I have no way of verifying the berries. Does anyone know definitively? I've searched countless other berry photos and can't find one like it. This picture is for a trivia contest coming up here in MN. So, without appearing rude, could anyone with info please email me, as other teams may be searching as well? Again, I'm just trying to ID the plant in the picture. Thank you so much.

    Hello Steve,

We sort of have an unwritten rule on the forums about not answering homework or contest answers. I suppose the philosophy is that we like to help people learn or who are curious, as opposed to have something to gain (however much against the odds it might be!). Also, it really isn't too fair to other contestants.

All that said, I'll offer this and close the thread:

You're on the right track. You might figure out how scientists communicate about raspberries and close relatives, and then use part of what you learn from that to search images.

    Best of luck.

PS Bonus hint: In your contest, visual number 7 is from the inside cover of a very famous book on the topic.
