Can someone help me identify this weed?

    I live in Michigan, USA. Found this weed in my backyard this early spring. This is two pictures:

    Here is a plant that could be in the same family that looks almost exactly like it, except the leaflets are hairy:

    So the first plant has yellow flowers and I found it recently this early spring around April 1st


    It can't be purslane or spurge. The leaves and the plant look very similar to purslane, but it is not it.


    Unlike purslane, this weed stands upright and it seems to grow only less than a foot tall. This weed doesn't have a reddish purplish vine like purslane does. In fact, it has no vine at all. The stems are green and the weed blooms yellow flowers.

    Unlike purslane, this weed I think has two leaves facing opposite each other on each side of the stem at each consecutive point on the stem.
