Can someone help me identify a flower please?

    Hi there

    This plant appeared in the middle of my flower bed this year - never seen anything like it and have had trouble identifying - can anyone help please - its very tall - about 4ft. Many thanks for any help you can give

    Salsify Tragopogon porrifolius. Young leaves (salads) and root edible.
