I've got about 12 paperwhites in various pots around the house in with other house-plants and am wondering what to do with them. They've bloomed once and I'm not sure if I need to pull the bulbs and dry them, or can I simply plant them outside to have them bloom yearly? Are they one-time bloomers, or will they bloom again indoors if I just leave them where they are? Any experts on this? Thanx!!

If near the water (Vancouver, Victoria etc.) plant outside in warm, sunny location.

They are tender bulbs, but they can come back in mild areas near the coast as Ron said. Paperwhite bulbs grown indoors are generally discarded after blooming. Indoor growing conditions do not usually provide the plants with enough energy to store for reblooming. If you have them in good soil and strong light, they can come back.

I have tried, and concluded that paperwhites do not survive the winters in our area, even with protection.

I've tried to save them from year to year with no luck. I have come to the conclusion that they are like poinstettia in that they're only fun for the Christmas season and then you have to let them go.
