I have a 20 yrs old Shirofugen cherry that is growing too close to the roof and I need to remove a couple of large limbs so can I do this now safely or wait until the winter? I have cut it back before in the same place and new growth is looking weak.
Do these trees bloom NEXT yr (2022) on this yr (2021) growth? Hi Peter, no it will be fine now, I always prune mine ( if needed ) between now and August, otherwise they are prone to silver leaf disease. June/July is the perfect time. D
