    Hello:

I have a decorative branch from a flower arrangement which i put in a bottle of water and is now growing roots. I really like it and would like to know what it is called and how to properly plant it in a pot.
It is reddish brown, about 1"wide at the base and 2 1/2" at the top with two curled pieces at the top. It is very flat and there are some grey pussywillow-like things growing on it.

    Thanks

Can you take us a picture? In this case it really would be worth 1000 words - cut flowers are often quite hard to pin down.

I'm with salt - Salix sachalinensis. So you were right on about the "pussy willow" things, because it is a willow - just not the usual kind.
