Found this plant yesterday at the North Pacific Historical Fishing Village in Port Edward, BC. I can't find it in any of my books. Can anyone tell me what it is? Dawn
it is related to borage as the flowers are held in what is called a scorpiod cyme i.e. the flowers are on oneside of a stalk and curled under like a scorpions tail or a bishops crozier. try searching for comfrey Symphytum spp http://www.lightmountainphotography.com/photo pages/photopage f Comfrey.htm possibly escaped from a garden?
Hi Ron, Thanks so much for the quick answer. My guests who found this with me left this am but I will be able to email them a response too. I guess someone must have planted it there as it is in an old garden plot beside one of the houses. Dawn
