Can anyone identify these flowers?

    I found these all around Maine this spring. I hope i attached these right...

    1 A pansy (Viola) of some sort
    2 Something in the family Lamiaceae
    3 Tulip (Tulipa)
    4 Dandelion (Taraxacum)
    5 Phlox (Phlox)

    First one has markings like Confederate violet, definitely is not a pansy. Second one is Glechoma hederacea. Phlox is P. subulata.

    The red tinge to the leaves makes me think #2 is that cute weed that Daniel featured recently, Lamium purpureum.

    I take the following back.
    After rereading the thread I find that Ron's Gill over the ground or Glechoma hederacea is correct. I should know better. :) The leaves though similar are similar to both plants. The flower is the clincher though. Upon looking closely at the photo, and then comparing it to plants on line (comparison photo) I recalled the the typical henbit flower and this is not it. The henbit has two lobes on the bottom lip that are unmistakeable. Harry

    I think you are right about the flower, Harry. The purple lamium has a distinctive flower not like the one pictured. I never bothered to look closely at it until now. Thanks for pointing it out.
