These trees were dotted about the hotel grounds of the Luperon Beach Hotel in the Dominican Republic and having left Britain in the grip of winter, the sight of them was a real spirit lifter. On my return home I trawled the net but to no avail. P02-12-08_21.32.jpg

Äÿêóþ Tyrlych! Tecoma Stans was spot on. I checked it out on a site called "FLORIDATA" and found that it is a member of the family Bignoniaceae and known variously as yellow elder, trumpet bush, yellow bells, ginger -thomas and tronadora. I thought the leaves were very elder like.
