My sister's company fired the people that took care of all their plants and she took a bunch before they got thrown out. This one looked half dead, but I repotted it and then end turned green and now it is sprouting leaves, can anyone tell me what it is?
LOL..fortitude, indeed! I'd cut the top off that stem (you can see where it was previously cut back) and re-root it in the same pot. The portion of stem just below where you cut will begin to sprout new growth. Even if the top you cut off doesn't make it...the remaining stem will survive and grow. It appears to be one of the Angelwing begonias.
Thanks for all the info, the plant is doing great now, it's got 3 leaves on top, I actually just repotted it today...do you mean I should cut off the new growth, or cut the top where it was previously cut?
If it actually is a begonia, and it appears to be such, I would wait until May when the full strength of summer is in high gear to aid in the new growth after a serious cut to the stalk. Then fertilize after the cut.
