I have often admired this shrub in this North facing garden on the bike path coming up to Trimble park. I am even more in awe of it once I saw it escaped our last winter unscathed. It almost looks like a leucodendron. Anyone?

I'm always interested in learning about plants that do well in my city.

Ron - can you share more about this plant, more than it's name?

Rather frequently planted outer coastal native. Grows to tree height on some sites. One at Seattle University was 30' tall several years ago.
