    Hello,

It's the first time I am using this forum and I ask you for any advice that you can give concerning the problem I am having with my pachira plant. The matter is that recently I have noticed that one of the three stems of the plant has started rotting and then gradually drying from the very top. First the leaves started getting yellow and drop out. I thought this was the normal process of aging. However, in a short while I have noticed that the stem itself has started getting softer and then shrinking and drying.

Closer to the bottom half this stem looks quite healthy (it has recently yielded some new branches from the bottom which I have cut and planted in a new pot. These are doing absolutely well). I cut the rotting part of the stem all the way down to what looked as a healthy part of the stem.

I wondered if anyone can help and let me know what was wrong with my pachira plant and if the cut-down stem will have any chance to recover and yield any new branches so it can grow up again.

Thank you in advance for all your help and advice

    Hello Barb,

I wanted to thank you for your help. I have followed the link. The information is really useful. Since it's ok to remove the diseased and damaged leaves and branches maybe my pachira plant will recover quite all right.

Thank you again so very much.

    Nino
