I was doing division on my Aloe Vera plant today and i removed one of the pups too soon as there was no roots growing from it yet, rather than discarding the poor baby , I have left it on some sand , do you guys think that it will callus over and send out roots?

Very much possible. Sounds as if you are doing just what you need to be doing. If you have several leaves on the pup, you might remove the lowest to allow another leaf node to directly touch the sand. I'm in a pretty humid environment, but I'd still probably tent it to increase humidity for rooting.
