Can a Jasmin tree be planted outside and stay there during winter?

I live in a townhouse in BC and like to beautify my front yard with a Jasmine tree.
Is there a variety that would survive the winter in BC?
Or is there any other nice smelling tree for up to 8 feet high that does?

    Please help.

    Thank you all,

The jasmines grown outdoors here are vines. Mildly fragrant common white jasmine (Jasminum officinale) and Stephan's jasmine (J. X stephanese) are probably the best bets. Pink jasmine (J. polyanthum) and star jasmine (Trachelospermum jasminioides) are very fragrant, very commonly offered but not very hardy.

Thank you Ron, I will go to all the nurseries in Kelowna to see what I can find.
It will help, that you gave me the actual names for it.
I will post something, if and when I find what I am looking for.
    Thanks again
