I once had one of these, and it's gorgeous haze of intense periwinkle blue blossoms in midsummer were especially luminous on overcast days....and we have a lot of those in a Vancouver summer!

But alas, it vanished. I bought what I thought was another, but the flowers are a very faded almost pinky-blue.

Do I need to add a soil correction as one does with blue hydrangeas? Or do I just need to keep hunting for the right specimen?

Flower color varies within species. Buy a named form of known attributes, or buy a flowering specimen.

    Thanks Ron!

I may have bought an "Loddon Anna", instead of "Pritchard's Variety", which is I think what the original was...anyone seen any at Lower Mainland nurseries lately?!
