I have a camellia that has finished blooming and is full of little green "apples". Are these seeds? Can I plant them and at what stage? Will they "rippen" and fall off? What?

They are fruits. Any seeds produced will be inside. I think they split open when ripe.

anybody else out there have any ideas as to the "apples" on my camellias? Do I break them open and get the seed out?
