Hello! I was given a pink mini calla lily in a little pot (~6 inches in diameter) about two weeks ago. I looked into calla lily care, and I found that they need lots of water and no direct sunlight.

I've been giving it lots of water (though I'm not too sure how much "lots of water" is--I've been making sure that the soil is always a bit damp) and no direct sunlight, but the leaves are starting to look a little yellowy.

I really want to take good care of my flower, and I'm a noob at gardening... does anyone have suggestions for why are my calla lily's leaves are starting to turn yellowy?

    Thank you!!!

Too much water. Most likely this is a symptom of soil that doesn't have fast enough drainage for the plant - try repotting in to a mix of 50% peat or coir, 25% bark and 25% leaf mulch, in a pot that has nice, generous drianage holes. Then, when you water, most of it should drain out, leaving the soil moist but not soggy. Calla do love water, but they hate having wet feet, and soggy soils are a death sentence.

As regards to watering your calla lily, i would put water into a sink or bowl and stand the lily in the water (maybe about an inch deep or 3cm) and let is 'drink' what it wants - then take it out after about 10 minutes or so.
