For what it's worth, my houseplant book lists this care information about Calathea (I don't personally have this plant...but it looks nice!): Light - Bright indirect (no direct sun) Temperature - 70-85 degrees F Water - Keep soil lightly moist at all times and maintain high humidity (above 60 percent). This plant is sensitive to fluoride and salts so it is best to use distilled or rain water. Soil - Fast draining potting soil with peat and perlite Repotting - Repot annually in spring to refresh soil Fertilizer - Spring thru Summer, feed with a high N foliage plant fert. every 3 weeks. In Fall and Winter, feed monthly. Hope this helps! :)
These plants need a lot of humidity, you will find that the edges of the leaves will turn brown, even if you have it sitting on a pebble try and mist it.
