I have growing in my office what I was told was a Calathea Burle Marx. It's very happy, and producing new leaves often. A few weeks ago I had this thing shoot off of the plant which I expected to be a new leaf, but instead was the item in the picture below. The first picture is the plant itself, the second is the thing I'm referring to. Does anyone know what it is? I'm confused.

I didn't think Calathea Burle Marx got flowers...do you think this plant was misidentified when I got it?
