Anyone have an idea where I can purchase either a Calamondin tree and/or some Calamondin fruit? I'm on Vancouver Island but would be willing to travel to Vancouver.
Check Tiny Tom's Tangerine Farm 6106 28 Ave, Delta, BC V4L 2N6 Phone:(604) 992-3817 or Fruit Trees and More Custom Propagation Nursery Bob and Verna Duncan. 724 Wain Rd., North Saanich, BC, Canada, V8L5N8. (near Sidney/Victoria) phone: 250-656-4269. email: bvduncan@FruitTreesAndMore.com
Both good sources (though you'll find Tiny Tom's cheaper than the Duncan's...until you add the ferry...). Outside the box (or inside the big box), the Home Depot in Courtenay had a few left over from Spring in one gallons (at least as of October): they brought in a few different citrus this season. Might give them a call and see if they're still around, at one time they were being cleared out at half off.
Thank you both for your prompt reply. I think I'll try the Island first (ferry costs). Regards, Peter.
I saw them today in the Nelson's Safeway. $ 28.88 a piece. If you have Safeway close to you you can check there first. http://www.safeway.ca/new_locator/locator.asp
Looks like Home Depot has brought in a batch of citrus trees for Chinese New Year. There were many lemon, kumquat (variegated and all-green), and calamondin trees at the Vancouver store. However there were only a few of the latter.
Thanks, I was over in Vancouver the other day and went to China town but all I could find was Kumquats and mini Mandarins. I'll check Home Depot in Nanaimo this morning.
