Hey, I have a cactus that I'm trying to save, but I'm not sure if I'm too late. I've had this cactus since I was a kid (about 10 years ago) and have forgotten about it after I left for college. After I came back (5 years later), I found my cactus, tipped over. After doing some research, I've found out that it has been way overwatered (I think my dad left it outside during the rainy season, etc.) The rot has already creep up about 1/3 of the way. So my questions are: Is there a sure way I can check if the cactus is gone? If I decide to cut the rot off my cactus, which at this point will be cutting it in half, will it still survive?
