Hi there, I have two large gymnocalycium species, and one of them has very tiny "scars" on it.
Most likely happened during growth, or moving etc.

Similar to if you had an apple, and something lightly scrapped the skin.

I am just wondering if the cactus scar will grow out, and heal eventually?
    Or is the scar forever.

They are extremely light scars. Healed already.
I guess I could try and pick off the "scab", which is really paper thin, and brown.

    Thanks for any reply

I would imagine it would depend upon how much more growing the plant has in its future. Plants with a more limited growth potential will likely show scars more than other plants that are very young and/or have greater growth potential.

In my experience though, cacti generally do not hide old injuries well.

Scars are not always a bad thing, gives the cactus some character:)

Scars are usually permanent on succulents and cacti, can you live with that? There will be no ill effects to the longevity of the plant...
