Hi ... I've had this little cactus for over a year now. It looks to be dying and I'm not sure why. The pot is 3" in diameter and the cactus is about 7" tall. I don't know anything about this cactus. If anyone could ID it that would be fantastic. Thanks in advance =)
It appears to be a Crassula species, either a variety of ovata or tetragona. C. tetragona typically has a leaves that come more to a point. C. ovata typically has leaves that are more rounded, broad, and flat. This one has features of both, which either means it is different species altogether, a subspecies or hybrid, or there may be some cultivation issues (light, water, nutrition) that is effecting the shape of the foliage. It would appear that this plant is not receiving enough light, as evidence of the extended spacing of the leaves and possibly the shape of the leaves. Crassula species are almost always a compact plant when given appropriate light. By the way. It is not a cactus, although cultivation techniques may be similar, in some cases.
