hello, I have these lovely 3 cactuses in the same pot and they have been doing great for over a year. All of a sudden a noticed all these white specks all over them (see photo) then I noticed my smaller cacti has deflated the past week to nearly no return. Need advise what the heck is going on or what to do? Is there a way to save the deflating cactus, and what are the white things all over?
Those "white specks" look like Mealy Bugs (Pseudococcidae) to me. They suck your cactus out of sap. Read this for remedy instructions: Common Pests on Succulents and Easy Treatments for Them - Succulent Plants and Care
Yep, definitely mealy bugs, and a severe attack too. Hard to say what is wrong with the small plant without more data, but it would not surprise me if it is rotting. Is it unbranched, or is it an offset that has grown out of a "decapitated" plant? Is it soft and floppy?
