Greetings, I received this as a gift. My first cacti I placed it outside to get used to the new spot before I repot it. The third day I had i noticed the white/brown scabs on it? I searched online but was only able to find info on a bug, which I don't think I have. There are no bugs to be seen, maybe it is just sunburn?

Also any ID on what kind it is?

Thanks for your time and help!

I'm guessing you're referring to the scratches on the stems.
Probably caused by rough handling during shipment.

Thanks, yea it has some scratches and white/brown spots. They appeared the third day I had it, thought it might be shocked. Should I replant it right away or let it get used to the new spot first? Second year gardener, Pumpkins, potatoes, peppers. I have no clue about cacti :) Thanks

Replant it where? The ground outside or a larger container?
Cacti prefer to be rootbound in general so don't be in a hurry
    to upsize the container.
Watering should occur when it rains in Phoenix ;-)
