re:read your archives cutting tops of ponytail palms and was wondering if it could work with hearty cabbage palms?
I recently had 13 cabbage palms each about 15' tall transplanted from a property where they were clumped together as they grow wild here in Florida to various other locations on the same property. Unfortunately, all green growth died off and some heads even seemed to have keeled over yet the trunks remain intact. I was hoping mother nature would rekindle these once beautiful species but its been 6 months with no signs of new growth. I've tried root feeding, hormone stimulus, milorganite etc... do you think I can have the tops cut as in the ponytail palm thread? Is there anything I can do or did i already lose the battle to keep these once beatiful palms alive????
    Thanks
