hi Daniel is possible insert in top page one convector USA measure to EU ,world measure? and of course EU ,world to USA? thanks ciao
Not a bad idea, considering the fact that forum members are located worldwide. ---Perhaps a link to where these conversions could be performed?
We will see what Daniel says. He is travelling right now and may not be online for a while. I always use Google for that purpose. People may not know this, but you can type whatever measure you want to convert into the Google search box + in + the measure you want to convert to. Example type in 350 centimeters in inches and you will get 350 centimeters = 137.795276 inches. I just did it and cut and pasted my example. Something simpler on the forums would be nice though. As an American (USA born) in Canada, I operate in both systems fairly well, but use the Google function for exact conversions.
i use the google thing all the time, too - it's pretty good! i didn't know if a link to it could be added, so i just didn't mention it.
Something so that it can be done without having to faff around with opening the conversion in a separate new browser page / tab, or having to scroll up and down a lot.
I recently discovered a Firefox add-on for contextual unit, time, and currency conversion. Converter can be downloaded from the developer's site or from AMO. However the latest version, 1.0.9, is not yet available at AMO. Some items of note: The last two releases are supposedly compatible with Firefox 4. However the add-on has the option to display an icon in the status bar which FF4 apparently no longer has. Perhaps someone here can verify one way or the other and report back. It works with FF 3.6.16. - Developer comments at AMO, There have been complaints targeted at Superfish. User beware. - Version 0.8.0 release notes, Of particular interest to Daniel... Converter is also available as a stand-alone widget, Edget, that can be embedded into a website using HTML. (See example at right side of Edget page; click on the large icon.) It provides conversion capabilities to site users independent of the browser in use. However the code base (Ver. 0.9.3) is a couple of versions behind.
Very nice idea -- that would resolve a lot of headaches for me re: discussions of units of measurement vs. discussions about plants.
