    Hello,

Could someone please assist with identifying this apparent member of the buttercup family? It was seen in a moist shady woodland near a lake on Vancouver Island. I've looked through E-Flora listed species for this family, but I saw none with leaves to match, or such erect stamens arranged in the same fashion. Thanks for looking.

    Terry

Not Ranunculaceae, it's in the Rosaceae. It's an avens, probably Geum macrophyllum.

    Thanks, Erik.

So much to learn, so little time.

    Cheers,

This page shows the plant in its later stages with fruit. It is a very common native plant. Maybe you recognize the fruit.
