Any idea what these bushes are? The first one has skinny really sharp thorns. I've lived here three summer seasons and haven't seen any bloom.

#3 - Could be a variety of Skimmia japonica. Crush some of its leaves - if this gives a pleasant scent, it's probably skimmia.

Probably too cold in NH for Skimmia Sp. (USDA 7 to 9).

    Same thing for Cheery Laurel

    Culture
Carolina cherry laurel is a robust grower that adapts to many types of soil. It becomes chlorotic on alkaline soils (leaves turn yellow green).
Light: Sun but is shade tolerant.
Moisture: Likes moisture but drought tolerant when established. Water well to keep it looking its best.
    Hardiness: USDA Zones 7-9.
