Bush/tree, NY, Ridged bark, 6ft tall

Below is a 6 ft bush/tree we have in the garden and are trying to find others.
It has distinctly raised bark lines (4, ridges at right angles on the thin branches), flower are white with pink edges (very small). It has multiple trunks and its branches are quite rough to the touch, though not the trunks.
Can anyone idenitfy it for me ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Chris

Thank you Ron, for your swift response. I saw some pictures of winged euonymus, and it seems right. The other site also suggested replacement plants, and I really like the highbush blueberry would also be great for birds.

Highbush blueberry is the blueberry of blueberry juice, fresh blueberries in the produce department etc. so birds are not the only one it is good for.
