I have a question and hope somebody out there knows what kind of bug I have on my Hibiscus plant. I cannot see any evidence of a bug but there are holes drilled in the base of some of the leaves and it looks like it sucks out the juice as there is a crystalized drop left afterwards. Shortly thereafter the leaf turns yellow and falls off. I had this bug before and one of the garden centres in Victoria said to use some small amount of lysol in water and pour it into the soil as apparently this is where the bug lives. It worked the first time but now I do not remember the amount of lysol to use and I do not want to harm the plant. Does anybody know what the bug is or what would be an appropriate amount of lysol to use? Susanne ps as an aside I have been giving my hibiscus 2 drops of food grade hydrogen peroxide and it absolutely loves it. Started doing it a few years ago and the amount of foliage and blooming improved dramatically. I believe this is the only reason why the plant is still surviving what with the return of this bug thanks for your help
