Hi, I'm really concerned about my Massangeana or Corn plant. For the last few months its leaves have gotten these ugly brown spots all over the upper leaves. I have my plant by a window and doesn't get much direct sun light but early in the morning. I have attached three pictures: first one is the top of the plant, second one the bottom (doesn't have those brown spots) and third one is a detailed pic of the spots. Does anybody know why this is happening to it? how can I fix it? Thanks, Adri
Thanks Junglekeeper. I was reading a little more about it. I forgot to mention I have a big pothos in the same pot so I don't know if that could affect it as well. I was thinking about trimming the top of the plant to get rid of these leaves. What's the right way of trimming this plant? Thanks!
In my opinion the leaves don't look bad enough to warrant removing the top - the cure may be worse than the disease. I don't have experience with topping this plant so I'll defer comments to those who have. However should you decide to remove the top, you could try to create a new plant with it by air-layering or treating it as a cutting, as described in the production document referenced earlier.
