Brooklyn, NY Park-Nettle? - If yes, can I make Tea from it?

    Nettle? - If yes, can I make Tea from it?

    I found many of these growing in the shade near water and dead wood. The long leaves grow from the bottom and center, almost like a dandelion. VERY THORNY!
    I'm hoping it's a nettle that I can make tea from.

    Doesn't sound right. Nettles grow on a single stalk with generally opposite leaves. Google Stinging Nettle and compare.

    Ditto to a thistle, perhaps Spear Thistle Cirsium vulgare.
