My wife came home with a yard plant and I accidentally threw out the description. Now she is not talking to me. I think it might be a bush of sorts. The plant was picked up at a local plant exchange (in Oak Park) which means it grows in the Chicago region. It is an outdoor plant and as you can see from the photos has a redish tint to the leaves and stems. Because of the size of the pictures I posted three of them here. http://berwyned.com/plant/6090.JPG http://berwyned.com/plant/6093.JPG http://berwyned.com/plant/6095.JPG Any help or leads on identifying this would be appreciated.
Broken Home (aka. can you ID this plant?) My wife came home with a yard plant and I accidentally threw out the description. Now she is not talking to me. I think it might be a bush of sorts. Re: Broken Home (aka. can you ID this plant?) Maybe a fuschia looks a bit like one I have that grows into a reasonable sized bush but the flowers are long and narrow rather than the usual fuschia. Mine are purple. Hopefully it will get answered and I will learn too. Liz Just found this pic that looks like mine. Re: Broken Home (aka. can you ID this plant?) If it grows outdoors in the Chicago area it is not a Fuchsia. May be hard to tell without flowers. Reminds me of a Lysimachia I grew once, but I could be way off.
Ouch! Hope that the glacial ice sheet has thawed...at least a little bit. ---Could you inquire for an ID at the plant exchange? (Burst into tears if necessary.) Looks kinda vine-y: is it? No, I don't know what it is, but I DO know that one of our intrepid Forum members does. Hey, folks! Let's help save a marriage here!
Re: Broken Home (aka. can you ID this plant?) Yes, maybe Lysimachia ciliata 'Firecracker' or similar cultivar.
