This is a dwarf Tahitian breadfruit tree. I planted it about 3 years ago and it produces two flushes of fruit a year. The fruit looks a bit like a cantaloupe from the outside. Once inside the firm light yellowish creamy color flesh taste like a potatoe with a ever so slight sweet note to it when boiled. If left to over ripen (which happens very quickly once picked) it becomes so soft it is used to make ULU, a poi made from breadfruit. The regular varieties get very tall with a large canopy. Take my advise and never park your car under this tree when it's full of fruit. It's like a tree full of large balloons filled with pudding just waiting to drop on your car from 30 to 60 feet up. Huge ornamental leaves are fun. aloha, bob
