    HI,
Has anyone successfully grown a blue hesper palm in the Pacific northwest? I would love to add this one to my garden as an experiment, but want to go into it with my eyes open! I have read conflicting information (other than armata being hardy compared with edulis), so please let me know what you know! Calling all brahea experts out there!
    thanks,

I had a small one for awhile. It froze. Sunset Western Garden Book says it's hardy to 18F.

    Hi,
Yes, I saw that hardiness temp....yet some are growing them in colder but dryer...I have also seen some sources of them growing on Vancouver Island (BC). So, I am still confused. I guess it is luck of the draw. It seems they are a bit like Washingtonia Robusta where they are fine for a few years and then one bad winter and they are toast. I have a WR and so we shall see how long it lasts.

Anyone on the island have a Brahea?
