Three weeks ago healthy boxwoods were planted in my yard in Florida. The area is west facing and gets hot sun in the afternoon. Last week all the leaves started turning yellow. It could be root rot. If so, it was recommended the plant be replaced with plants that are not suseptible to root rot.
Do you know of a short green hedge shrub that is not suseptible to root rot, can tolerate hot sun for 4 hr a day and partial shade the rest of the day, and grows well in central Florida?

Privet - Ligustrum sinensis. Boxwood can't take wet conditions, and do like semishade as well as cold winters.
