I was just in Florida for vacation and brought home a Bottle Palm to New Jersey. I believe the water in New Jersey contains more fluoride and chlorine than in Florida. Does anyone know if this will hurt the Bottle Palm?

I was not aware of this, but according to this, flouride can adversely affect plants. There are filters you can place in-line with your watering hose that will remove those chemicals. I believe a common activated-carbon filter will remove most chemicals.

Thanks for the article. My palm is in my sunroom so I guess I'll use either Brita water or bottled spring water.
