Hi! I am wondering if you know the best "organic" way to rid my Bonsai Serissa of what I believe is aphids. I do not like to use many chemicals int he house. I just purchased it, and do not want them to spread to my orchids! They are small greenish looking bugs, and I see white, what looks like "sheddings" on some of the leaves. Please help!

I first try just washing them off or alternatively you could use insecticidal soap.
    Good luck!

    Good afternoon,

I too have bonsai trees and in the past I researched this solution below using garlic. I hope this helps:)
Make your homemade natural nontoxic aphid insecticide. Take a glass or plastic jar, or bowl, and put in 1 clove of garlic diced in small pieces and then add 3 cups water. Put a lid or cover on the container and let it stand for at least 8 hours. You can put this in the fridge if you want. After the water has had a chance to be infused with the garlic juices, drain off the garlic and discard it. If you leave the garlic in the water, it will start to decompose and have a very bad odor, and I don't mean a garlic odor. Put the garlic water in a spray bottle and spray the aphid infested plants with the solution. Make sure you get under the leaves as well. This will kill the aphids and also act as a repellent.
