    Agree with Purple Toadflax Linaria purpurea.

    Interesting to see a Rufous Hummingbird using it, as where it is native, Purple Toadflax is a bee-pollinated plant.

    Yes, that's it.
    Hard to see, sorry, as the hummy's wings do make it tough to get both in focus & i haven't taken any of just this plant which grows in my garden, going thru the colour changes as it seeds itself.
    Also tough enough to grow wild, without watering in a very dry summer, about 20' from the beach in a parking lot. It was dumped by a local years ago and continues on.
