In 2021 winter at my coast garden near Vanc - I inherited this sturdy pot-bound plant that I think is blue salvia

what is the Latin proper name?

yes it has attractive blue flowers

bees and hummers seem to like it

I have time and water! now to put it in a larger pot (I don’t have a garden bed at this time)

I have attached photos for ID & opinions on whether I can divide it up

it is one solid lump of roots out of maybe a 12” x 14” tall pot (the pot is in recycle now)

can I divide this contained beast or should I just plant in a larger container (I don’t have garden bed space at this time - and it’s handy in patio decor garden )

thank you - it is seemingly a plant that will move fwd with dry hot and snow (below freezing temp + rain) other times of yr - so I want to keep it.

Looks like a Veronica species to me.
