I just found 2 blue mason bees that are covered with brown something. At first I thought it was mud but now not so sure.Any ideas?Hope it's not a fungus
The brown fuzz that you see on the Mason bees are pollen Mites. Did you clean the cocoons in the fall? Cleaning is a MUST if you want to control the Mites infestation.
no because our bees refill the holes as s they empty in spring so at no time are they unoccupied.Guess we'll destroy this one and start again Thanks
