This flower was found in a heavily wooded area by a lake side in Russellville, Arkansas. It has 3 petals and sepals. These photos shows one flower facing camera and another smaller one just underneath. The leaves are elongated and horizontal and curled and heavily veined. Pictures taken 04-01-11. Any help with ID Please???

    Haha, April Fools, Michael!

It's either Tradescantia ohiensis, or Tradescantia virginiana. Sometimes you can find them with white or pink flowers, and sometimes more blue than this specimen. Mine have been blooming about a month, since first part of March, I'd say.

Thanks everyone for your replies. It looks like a Tradescantia virginiana by the photos and descriptions of the Tradescantia spiderworts.
