I too found a tree that was bearing fruit that looked like blackberries. In fact, they are boysenberries. It is a cross between a blackberry, a raspberry, and a loganberry. I was determined to find out. It's more fragile than a blackberry, but it also lacks the blackberry's conspicuous seeds. I live in north Alabama, and this tree is no where near water, just on the edge of a hayfield.

I hope this helps solve further questions, and I have ate alot of them since I discovered what they were! YUMMY
    Sincerly,

    White Mulberry Morus alba.

Boysenberry is only a low vine-like shrub, not more than 1-2 metres high.

Yes: Boysenberry looks like other blackberries and not like this mulberry tree.

I have a blackberry/boysenberry tree. Currently it is full of fruit, which tastes wonderful of course. However, the berries are falling all over my patio and so I have started to trim the tree back. I can't reach all of the limbs, nor do I want to prune it to much. My problem is that the berries on the patio are driving me CRAZY. Since I don't want to prune to much, I would like to know; "how long will there be berries falling on my patio?"

Michael, Judi here in the USA. I am novice gardener with a crazy boysenberry tree. My kids love to eat the fruit and I enjoy it also. My question is, when will the tree stop producing fruit. This tree is very vibrant and full of fruit, however, it is falling on my patio. The stains on my furniture is annoying. I have pruned as much as I can without making the tree look terrible. Can you help me?
