Today was the first day in about 2 weeks that I walked thru the orchard and discovered a serious problem with many trees . The leaves are all brown, rust scale looking with small little black worm looking critters on many leaves. One worm per leaf on some trees. This worm more appears to be slug looking about 1/2in. long, some webbing of such. Haven't seen any bugs but perhaps this critter is in its advanced stage. Please reply with some feedback to what the heck these are and what one can spray @120 dwarf cherry trees that have only been treated as organic through out there 6 yrs of life. If one has to use chemicals to remedy this problem then we'll do what ya gotta do. lol

I don't think I could answer this without a photograph (others with experience might be able to, though).

If a photo isn't possible, spend some time browsing the Insect Pest Management site from the BC Ministry of Agriculture and Lands - plenty of information there.

Thanks Daniel for your response. Will take a photo today but it appears that this is cherry slugs. Have found info earlier and the pics are near identical and from my reads this problem is going to be a challenge to control or get rid of. Thanks again going for pics now.
