Hi - I planted a 15 gal King Palm last spring. In the last month or so I've noticed a lot of blackish powder on the trunk. Is this some kind of fungus? If so how can I get rid of it? I sprayed some anti fungal spray on it several times a week for a few weeks but this didn't seem to help. Some of the fronds have been dying also -- turning brown, then black

    Thanks

The tree is looking much better as of late. It has a nice healthy new frond growing from the top center. I deep water it once a week and that seems to make the difference. The black spots on the trunk have mostly gone away. I think the intense heat we had for those few weeks was the problem

Despite popular belief palms need water.
