Hello, I got seed's from the wild flower black-eyed susan Rudbeckia hirta. My question is: do I sow the seeds out before oder after the winter. Some seeds need the winter to germinate. I could not find it. Your help is needed. Thanks Bri
Hi When I was on the coast, I ussually stored them in the freezer compartment in the fridge. Till spring/early summer and then "threw" them around the garden.
Well, in Illinois, they are native, so when there seed heads dry out naturally in aug-sept, this is the best time to sow them into the ground...note: carefully drop the seeds onto the ground dont actually plant them... some species need light to germinate
where i live and most of the surroundign area is coverd in them... in the forests and some medows it looks like grass its so abundunt
Thunbergia can be simply dug in where it lies the past season.. I lOVE these perennials..I'm always fiddling with bigger and bigger flowers and having great success. Hopefully you will too.. Deb :)
