I tried looking this up on the forum and couldn't find anything. If it's already in here I'm sorry I must have missed it. I have a black elephant ear plant that I am pretty sure is Colocasia esculenta. I can't find the card that came with the plant. Actually, I can't find anything anymore. Must be the age. I live in Illinois at a zone 5. We have a freeze warning out for tonight. Should I dig up the plant before the frost hits or should I let the frost get the leaves and dig her up tomorrow? I really don't want to lose the plant. I left the green variety in last winter and I lost those. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Sounds like you are right on your id. I live in sub tropics so I don't have to dig them up, but if you lost your green ones last year I would dig them up and store them. Someone with more frost experience than I will no doubt chime in. Good luck Ed
