I have a Bilbegria nutans that is overflowing it's pot, but is very healthy. It is in full flower right now. When and how should I repot and possibly divide it? What is a good media to use? Would regular houseplant potting soil work, like what you can buy at big-box stores?
Do you have have some tips on how to divide? What medium do you use? I'm hoping that a regular house plant mix will do.
Flowered rosettes collapse after blooming, plant continues on making new shoots from creeping rootstock. Potting medium is just something to hold it, as long as not soggy or poisonous won't care much what it is made of. Could grow plant on tree branch or stuck to other surface in right environment (humid greenhouse or outdoors in humid tropics).
I have had my broms sit in water for the summer months, out of doors with no ill effect. I do have excellent drainage when I bring it indoors before the temps are below freezing... try snapping off a new grow and plant in a light medium mix.
